Hello. One of my hens is molting and hasn't been laying, which I know is normal during molt. However, this morning, I found one hard shell and one soft shell egg laid overnight, both broken open, assuming from the fall. Back in August, I found two soft shell eggs, one broken and one intact. I'm not sure who the two soft shells came from and neither hen was molting. I only have two hems that are of laying age, both are 19 months. Thoughts?

Oyster shells that they won't even look at. But they will pull their own shells from the compost pile.

She's been molting at least 2-3 weeks.
