Hard boiled egg

Would my chicks need grit if I feed them a hard boiled egg?

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong please, but i think with egg yolk they don't.

Thanks I thought so too but could not find anywhere where it said that. I have new chicks and want to give them a boost. They are doing good but I have an unexpected trip and my DH will be at home with our young daughter and the baby chicks.

Ours handle egg just fine without grit, we use it often for sickly birds (who won't take grit on their own). Greens, seeds, grains, other tough to break down things need grit.
