Hard boiled quail egg problem

We boiled some quail eggs as we have done many times. When we went to shell them quite a few of them had runny yolks, but they were not raw or under cooked. It seemed as if water had mixed with the yolk. Has anyone else experienced this before?

a bit stumped but possibly cracks in shell allowed water in or those eggs were old or bad?? I’ve never encountered that issue but I don’t boil a lot of my quail eggs

I boiled some today and there were lots of big cracks and that didn't happen! Possibly cracks in the shell and membrane ?
