Hi, a couple of months ago a friend told my family and me about a chicken that was lingering in her back yard for a couple of years. She told us the previous owner of the chicken passed away. Since we already had a flock of chickens we decided to pick the rooster up. He was scared and hard to catch. When we got him home I realized he had very scaly a swollen legs, I did my research and found out he had scaly leg mites, I treated him and he got a lot better. Over the weeks I noticed a bone like structure growing out of his leg, it was brown and crusty. I’ve tried using vegetable oil, green goo, blu-kote (which is why his legs are purple in the pictures) , and Vaseline. It seems to be getting worse and spreading. Please help idk what to do, should I get an antibiotic??
