Hard decision - cull Thor now or later? PICS added!

Wished you lived closer i would come do it for you.
Take it from me,you will question yourself as what you should do and it will drive you crazy, then you will beat yourself up because you are worried he may have suffered to long.

If you know its bad,let him go now , so you end the suffering and stop your worring also.

These kind of things are so hard.

When we get ready, DH is going to cull Thor. Because I know DH has a soft heart and cares for Thor more than he'll admit, I know he will make it quick and painless.

May I suggest you wait unril you get home from vacation to make the changes to your flock, so the change in dynamics is accomplished under your watchful and loving care, and you don't worry more about such things while you are gone (which you would).

Thanks y'all. I think we'll wait until we return from vacation to put Thor out of his misery. In the meantime, I'm thinking about giving him a daily dose of sour cherries. I know that cherries are said to help humans with gout.

Of course. Here's a pic of Thor taken today - he'll be 3 years old on the 9th of this month:

And here is his son TJ (Thor, Jr.). He's 9 weeks old now. I had my doubts about his gender (denial?), but I noticed the tell-tale iridescent green tailfeathers just yesterday.

AznChick, thank you very much for the link. I'm willing to do just about anything to relieve his suffering.
