Hard yolk stuck to the chick

This is the thing. I think it might be the yolk sac, but isn't it supposed to be already absorbed since the blood was? I'm very confused. The chick is kicking and trying to get away, it looks frustrated

That’s dried on membrane. I wouldn’t wash a chick, you risk chilling them and cause more issues. I know people do it, but it’s a risk they’re willing to take.

You can use any oil you want. Olive oil will be fine.

I'll try to soften it, I've already tried but unsuccessfully, because it's stuck to the feathers and the chick cries when I pull on it

You need to put oil and let it sit for a bit then try again. Massage the oil in.

I had one like this yesterday. I put the oil on and set it back in the incubator. I waited about an hour and it came off smoothly. You still might have to use your fingernail a bit, but it doesn’t hurt the chick. You can also use qtips instead of your fingernail. Mine is peacefully resting in the incubator.

This happens when the membrane dries because the chick was pipped for an unusual length of time. It happens.

Post pics of the chick once it’s fluffed and unstuck!

OK, I did it, now it's resting in the incubator, but it's a very small chick, I hope it will make it through okay! I'll post a pic when it's fluffed up!

I doubt that's the yolk then. I have had success just using soap and water and gently massaging the membrane off. I use Dawn if I have it. If you leave it like that it will cause it's leg to not be able to used probably. I would get if off as soon as possible.

The yolk sack would be a yellow ball at the bottom of it. It IS supposed to be already absorbed, but sometimes things happen and it doesn't. That doesn't sound like what you are dealing with though.
