I'm new to chickens and just finishing up the chicken pen. I bought my hardware cloth on Amazon then I read on a different sight to not buy off Amazon. Is this true and what should I now do that I just wrapped my pen in all of it?

It should be fine. Most hardware cloth is 19 gauge. And since it’s galvanized it will last a long time without rusting.

What you don't want is the lighter gauge like 23 gauge 1/4". It will stop the smaller critters but not anything like a coon. I had a coon pull it apart and kill a pullet in broad daylight so this is my personal opinion only.
They do make a 19 gauge 1/4", tho but I have no personal experience with it. I use 1/2" 19 gauge on my runs and save the lighter 1/4" HC for brooders or dividers in my coops.

There is nothing wrong with that. No matter what you use somebody on here will tell you that something else is better. That just comes with this being a public forum.

If I’m thinking of the same post, it was a specific brand sold on AZ that was advertised as 19 gauge, but upon delivery, it was very flimsy.

I think many posters (probably including me) pointed them to Lowe’s or Home Depot, not because they don’t sell the crappy brands, which they do, but because you can often find a roll of HWC in store but too short (24” or something), and get a feel for the quality.
