hardware cloth hurts..

Quote:
I got "sproinged" with concertina/razorwire in the Army in 1985; I got sliced up pretty good up my arms and on my face. I was leaning over trying to handle a pile of it (long story). The facial cuts healed ok; I think most of the sproing was absorbed as the sharp edges dug into my arms. I still have some scars from it. My hands were ok as we were wearing some kind of armored leather gloves like these .

So that's what I think of EVERY time I handled coiled metal wire or fencing. I'm a little paranoid.

I found in trying to work with the hardware cloth /wire that the best thing I did was to wear heavy leather glove on left hand. Right hand left bear to hold various cutting devices (tin snips or wire cutters like for electronics work) and to use a heavy rubber mallet to pound those doubling turnovers of the hardware cloth into shape on a wooden surface.

Hope this helps someone else.
