Also, if you plan to use electrified poultry netting, get the right charger for it! Again, Premier has products and advice, at least here in the USA. Their online catalog is excellent too.

Premier1supplies.com has very good products and information, although I'm not sure about shipping or calling to Canada.
HowardE on this site has good information, check his threads.
Basically, hotter is better than weaker; you want to make a big impression, and grass, weeds, and branches will short it out, especially if it's not a serious charger.
Mine is a plug- in unit, not solar powered, and runs about a mile of fencing here.
