Hardware cloth

I know to use 1/4 inch hardware cloth ..but what brand and type is best to use? I see different info on all descriptions on line.

I use 1/2" HC. I'm not coming up with any serious predators that are going to get through a 1/2" opening.
I use 19 gauge, galvanized after welding. It is hard to find 16 gauge but that would be even stronger.
How you secure it will make a difference too. Lots of staples and then a board secured over the attachment sight or using many screws with fender washers are the preferred methods.
