i have two vents that are at roost level.should i put hardwire cloth over them.

If the coop is inside a predator proof run then I would say no. By predator proof I mean with a roof so nothing else can get inside. Cats, opossums and racoons can all climb. Can't hurt to cover them though.

we can open and close the vents in their coop.but if we can open it so could a predator.there is a hazel nut tree at the back of their coop.my fear is a predator could climb in to the bush and reach in through the vents.now to convince my dh to put hardwire cloth over the vents.he said their is no way the limbs on the bush could support any weight.he is going to think i have lost my mind.i had him cut holes in the coop.which he did not want to do.i told him how important
venilation was.now i have to ask him to put wire over the vents..it seems as if it is never ending...lol.
