Harlee laid her first egg!!

another egg today, and went to turn my incubated eggs, only to find one has started hatching!! 2 breaks in the shell but hasn't got through the membrane yet. Can it breath ok?
I'd picked it up to cool them and candle before lockdown before i realised (the cracks were on the bottom) I mean the membrane inside the shell.

Usually if the shell is cracked the membrane is broken. It won't hurt to take a thumbtack and carefully poke a hole.
I would only suggest doing this while you are candling though so you are 100% sure you are not in danger if poking the baby.

I personally would leave it alone.

I just used a v thin needle and made a tiny hole in the membrane (candled to check for bill first) it's still trying to break through in same area so thankfully i hadn't confused it when i turned it earlier. thanks Kiki, I feel better now, was panicking a little. I cant hear any peeping from it though. Both pips are in the area of the air cell, should I be hearing it? It's certainly rocking around quite a bit.

Don't worry if you don't hear noise...they don't have to make noise.

Now you wait.:pop:pop:pop

It can be another day or two until it hatches. (After the external pip)
