Harris Farms Nurture Right 360 Incubator is AMAZING!

Spots are definitely fun lol. I now have three of them that look like twins...one is just smaller/younger, lol. Lucky was the only one who was different, so I'm guessing maybe there's some kind of sex link thing going on with the AC/Cornish X.

Oh, guess what? My Ayam Cemani pullet is now a hen, as well as my original blue Ameraucana (Sparrow, from the first hatch) lol. I had put the Ayam Cemani girl in the breeding pen with my splash Ameraucana rooster. I can't WAIT to see what those babies look like. The eggs were TINY though!!...so I don't have a ton of faith they'll hatch. But she laid a large one yesterday, so we'll see. I'd rather try and fail, than not try. My Ameraucana girl I noticed being bred by my blue Ameraucana rooster...so I immediately put her in a breeding pen with my main Ayam Cemani rooster (Johnny) and she laid a week later. I put my splash Ameraucana girl in there and another blue pullet today. Johnny got them immediately so I think it's going to be another week or so before I'm getting three blue eggs a day from them.

These Easter Eggers will be ADORABLE lol.

Oh!! Also!! One of Jenny's sisters started laying two days ago! The eggs are FREAKING ENORMOUS lol!! She's been being mounted regularly by my black Ameraucana rooster (who's lead roo now that Johnny is confined). I can't wait to see little Cornish X Easter Eggers, lol!! I've been searching and searching and can't find any online.

Soooo with all this intro...there's currently 14 eggs split by the above mixes in my incubator lol. Seven Ayam Cemani eggs, five Ameraucana eggs (both sets will likely be Ayam Cemani based Easter Eggers, but with alternate gender parents), and two of Brenda's black Ameraucana fathered eggs rounding up the batch!

Wow! Well you have certainly been busy! I look forward to updates on this hatch! :pop

If I keep getting eggs daily or close over the winter...I'll very likely keep hatching them 10 or so at a time until spring. Just keep alternating incubators every 21 days. Easter Eggers are ridiculously popular here, and I can sell finished, laying hens for a premium. If they're fibro it'll add even more to the attraction. Plus there will be pure bred Ameraucana in some hatches as well...so win/win!

Today was my 7 day candle (technically day 6...but I was too excited lol).

I set 14 eggs:
5 - Ayam Cemani over blue Ameraucana
7 - splash Ameraucana over Ayam Cemani
2 - black Ameraucana over Cornish X

Current status:
1 - Ayam Cemani over blue Ameraucana
6 - splash Ameraucana over Ayam Cemani
1 - black Ameraucana over Cornish X

Sooooo...fertility is overall fairly poor at 57%. But...these are literally the first ever eggs out of three different pullets....so I wasn't expecting a lot. The big surprise is 6 of 7 Ayam Cemani eggs going strong. They are difficult to hatch from all I've read, and these are her first eggs as well.

I've currently got 4 Ayam Cemani (splash Ameraucana dad) and 4 blue Ameraucana (Ayam Cemani dad) eggs in a carton waiting. When I get to 14 eggs, I'll go ahead and put them in the second incubator and start them.

I'm excited about them all, really...but Brenda's Cornish X/Ameraucana baby has me SUPER curious, lol. Jenny's babies are humongous compared to their hatch mates. Can you imagine a meat bird sized Easter Egger?!

When you say their first ever eggs, are they small in size? I usually wait for them to lay average sized eggs before I set them but it's not unheard of for them to still hatch. It's just a precaution because it can make for problematic hatches sometimes in tiny pullet eggs.

Smallish (except Brenda's!), yes. But not much smaller than the Ayam Cemani and Ameraucana hatching eggs I've gotten...so I'm hoping for the best.

I'm not expecting a high hatch rate...just hoping for the best!

It turns them one direction all the time, but it does turn every hour so they are still getting turned a lot. I did notice during the turn test that the inner ring eggs don't get turned as well so yes, I would recommend when you open it up to candle I would switch them around in there.
are you sure it turns every hour mine was three times a day can this be changed it is only one problem I have with mine.

The incubator itself looks awesome as heck! BUT........ what I don't like about this incubator is that it only does increments of 0.5 degree and not 0.1 degree!!!!! That is the deal breaker of the century!!!!!! WHY, oh WHY did you do that Harris Farms?
yes and mine came with no red cork to help keep in humidity. too much fan for new chicks. im spoiled with the brines 28 ex. easy to control everything.ndose anyone know how to get the turner to turn more than three times a day.

Mine definitely turns every hour. Why do you think yours is only turning 3 times a day?
I have it in my bedroom and have only noticed the 2pm turn and a YouTube video said three times a day so that seemed correct. can it be changed as I need more turning I did it manually a lot because mine was not turning at all except the 2pm im going to plug in again now and watch it as had a very bad hatch but think it was the suppler more than anything because papas eggs did well in my Brinsea . had other trouble with the cord falling out that probably killed the eggs with a 3 hour chill while at store. papas eggs did well in the brines though. lovely chicks have ordered more but hope to solve the turning trouble in this thing and tape the cord together. cannot get to the makers to get a red cap it wa not included. not been a good experience but getting it to turn every hour would be great . I I like the rotation if I can set it . thanks nothing in the insert I got addresses the amount of turning.
