Harris Farms Nurture Right 360 Incubator is AMAZING!

Yesterday I added in my final batch of shipped eggs. 9 went into a still air. 2 were added to my new Nurture Right 360.

They're typical shipped eggs other than spending a whopping 9 days in transit. Shipped on a Monday. Arrived at my house the following Wednesday. Ugly air cells but otherwise look ok. I only let them settle for 1/2 day before popping them in. My gut tells me they need to start incubating more than spending then extra time resting. At this point I don't think I have much to loose.

The long term plan is to move the more "hope they hatch" eggs into the Nurture Right as space free up based on yolkers or early quitter. Should have a bit of a shuffle this weekend. When the GBear eggs hit day 7.

LOCKDOWN DAY is here!!!

:celebrate

I haven't done the deed yet though.... I was waiting for it to get dark so I could quickly candle at the same time I'm removing the turner, etc....

I also ordered a new heating pad that doesn't have an auto shut-off so I can do the Mama Hen Heatpad method instead of a heat lamp. All of that arrives today too.... :)

I also broke down and went ahead and ordered 12 hatching eggs from Alabama Silkies....lol. Of course, I don't have a clue when they will actually be shipped. I kinda wish they'd give me some clue as to whether it will be weeks or months so I know if I have another 21-day time slot to try a few more eggs from my girls....
Good plan! How much was the blanket? Just curious.
Exciting about those silkies. Are they show quality or special colors?

I like having an approximate date too. Or at least a window of a couple weeks to plan around. You should ask. Maybe they'll throw you a bone.

The heating pad I ordered is a Sunbeam XL (12" x 24") and cost $17 on Amazon Prime. (Note - I really didn't want to order from Amazon or Walmart but I couldn't find it for sale anywhere else so I broke down and just ordered it. :/ )

As for the Silkies, I think they just send you a random assortment so no idea what colors or types I'll get. I had a Silkie rooster in the birds I adopted from the previous homeowner of my house. I could not believe how docile he was....and so incredibly soft. Unfortunately a predator got him a few months ago. I found him in the chicken yard with no head. I was heartbroken about it....

I just put mine in lockdown! It’s going to be so hard to not want to candle them...eeeek!!! Sorry y’all, first time hatcher and really feeling like a crazy chicken lady with how excited I am 😂 I saw movement out of the seven remaining I had in there! Fingers crossed for 7 healthy ones on hatch day!

That’s very sad about your Silkie! 😢

My brand new nurture right 360 just delivered and is broken! The screws which hold the motor to the top broke the plastic anchor points.
think i should rig up a way to fix it or send it back?
I need to finish some almost done incubating eggs right this minute!

Personally I would exchange it if it arrived broken. Where did you order it from? Even if you rig something that doesn't necessarily mean it will be working properly depending on how badly it's broken. Also, would it prevent you from being able to exchange it?
