Harris Farms Nurture Right 360 Incubator is AMAZING!

That egg does look like it likely quit very early (day 2 or so).

I have had it happen once or twice where an egg starts to develop several days later than the others. I always gave those eggs a chance but they quit on me around mid way through incubation. I'd suspect that is a quitter but I'd leave it in for a few more days just in case. :)
Ok. I left it in for now. I’ll check it again in another 4-5 days when I candle again. If nothing more shows then it will come out

Hey fellow NR360 owners, I’ve used the search function and read most of this thread so forgive me if I’ve missed the following:

1. Has anyone successfully used dividers or boxes in the incubator to keep breeds separate at hatch?
So I made some separation boxes à la Gail Damerow in Storey’s Guide.

She made hers 2” high; mine are 2.25” high but that stills seems pretty short.

I made lids for them but I might flip the boxes upside down and not use the lids so that the little guys won’t be walking on the 1/2” hardware cloth. I don’t know if them walking on the hardware cloth would be uncomfortable for them or a risk to their feet. I don’t want to cut individual bits of shelf liner to fit each box but maybe I should so that I can use lids.

I made several boxes so that I’d have the option of a few combinations, depending on how many eggs I have of however many breeds at lockdown.

My motivation for doing this is that I’m getting up to 8 breeds of hatching eggs and several of the breeds have multiple possible colours similar to some of the other breeds. I know separation boxes aren’t part of having a viable hatch but it would be a big part of my satisfaction for my first hatch, knowing who is who as they develop. My plan is to band them when I take them out of their boxes.

Tell me what you think..
Set 21 eggs in NR 360. Removed 2 blood rings on day 3. Yesterday, day 10, candled and removed 2 clears. 17 developing. Also added a Thermometer/Hygrometer. The Hygrometer is within 4 points and fluctuates with the incubator. The incubator shows 99.5 temp and never fluctuates. The added thermometer came up to 97 and drops to 94 and 95. My eggs had veins that looked appropriate for day 10. Should I toss the extra Thermometer or raise temp. Would eggs even develop at 97 and dropping to 95? I could add a second thermometer/Hygrometer

You would need to calibrate the secondary thermometer for it to be helpful in any way. I would go by the incubator sooner than the secondary if it's not calibrated. I calibrate a little meat thermometer because it can be submerged and check it against my digital thermometers. I threw away 3-4 digital thermometers because they were almost 5 degrees off so it's not uncommon to find bad ones (I went back to my old reliable cheapos after that happened, they still die but most of them lasted 2 to 3 years). If it's 1 or 2 degrees I just put a sticker on it so I know which ones are off.

I so prefer to keep it simple. I'm just going to toss it. The second one seems to be accurate to my house temp but as long as eggs are developing, I'm not going to over think it

You can really drive yourself nuts with extra thermometers. Your nr reading a steady temp with your extra therm fluctuating is consistent with how mine acts. Reads pretty steady but any other thermometer will show fluctuations. If you trust that second one at all I’d bump the temp one notch just to get the fluctuations more in recommended range. But also your strategy of just tossing it and charging ahead is valid. Especially if they’re showing good development. I got spoiled on the nuanced temp control on my brinsea and drove myself crazy when I started using the nr and incuview because it’s just not possible to adjust them as precisely and they fluctuate more.

But I just decided to just turn them on and let them do their thing and my hatch rates have been 90% + on both so can’t argue with that.

Just started with this thread and haven't had time to read the whole thing. This question may have been asked before, so please excuse if it has. I know this incubator holds 22 eggs, but most sellers sell in batches of 6. Would it be possible to put 24 eggs in this machine or would it be asking too much of it and would it lower the success rate of the other 22 eggs?

This pile of thermometers is for my IncuView. I have to keep 4 in there at all times because the temperature fluctuates as the chicks develop and if I don't adjust the temps I end up with chicks hatching with hernias.

In the NR360s I just check once every season to make sure it's still working properly. I place the thermometers all over the incubator and there are hot and cold spots but because the turner goes all the way around the incubator in the NR360 it makes up for hot and cold spots so I'm just looking for an average of 99.5, this can look different with eggs in the incubator and I have filled it with eggs, turned off the turner, and placed the thermometers on top of the eggs and it's way more consistent. I never leave the secondary thermometers in the NR360s like I do in the IncuView though and so far I've never needed to adjust the temperature in any of them either. Just in case anyone was curious. Lol!

You can squeeze more eggs in if you take out the turner and hand turn and I have heard of someone stacking a couple smaller eggs on top of the turner successfully and just hand turning the ones on top but I don't recommend that, lol.
