They were zipped all the way around but didn't push out? Was the membrane hard to tear when you opened it? That is very unusual to see them quit after zipping, especially multiple doing it.
Have you hatched eggs from this flock before?

Yes, one was zipped all the way and the othet about 3/4 of the way. No hard membrane, chicks still moist.

I’ve hatched from them multiple times this year, usually about 80% or more after clears. I’m dumbfounded…

Did you take them the rest of the way out of the shell for additional pictures? What did the abdomen look like if so?

I put them back in the incubator…just in case (even though it’s pretty obvious). I’m not going to open it again until the last Pipped hatches, but I can open it & check after that.

How heart breaking! My last hatch I had a chick make it all the way out, but just died, it looked completely healthy.

Yeah, this hatch has been rough. Also had a chick born with what looked like intestine out and bleeding all over for 3 hours. Ended up culling. I usually enjoy hatching but this time was tough.

My eggs always start on day 20. Same calibrated temps w my Govee in this hatch as well. Just a mystery.

Ok, once you check the others later let me know what the abdomens look like. Temps or not turning enough can cause the intestinal issue but omphalitis can occasionally as well. If you're dealing with some kind of bacteria that could make more sense. I'm sorry this has been such a challenging hatch for you.
