Harris Farms Nurture Right 360 Incubator is AMAZING!

Yep. I've even read there were some studies that showed that some (reasonable) cooling each day was good for them, and improved health/hatch rate.

One tip I've seen is to add something black to cover the area around the candling light. Something to block the 'glow' that the light leaks through the top. It'll go a long way towards improving internal visibility. Something as simple as a circle of construction paper with a hole for the light would even do the job.
Great idea about the construction paper cover! I'll try that next time.

My only tip is to put your hand in front of the light when switching eggs. Man, it's bright!!! That light could blind you! LOL

This is my first hatching egg experience, but this bator has been very user friendly so far. Tomorrow is day 21 and not as many eggs left as this photo shows. Some had broken yolks from shipping. Only 6 in lockdown. This is much more suspenseful than I would’ve ever imagined!! If all goes well my Self-blue Ameraucana Dreams will soon come true!!!🐣❤️🧡💛

Fingers crossed for a great hatch!!

I'm thinking about cutting something out of rubber, lol...or possibly even painting the cover. The light is good for white eggs. Doesn't do much on the blues...and I'm sure browns would be much too dark. The 'gasket' would help!

I have 14 blue/black/splash Ameraucana in mine as well, LOL. Such beautiful birds, and the few I've met have such mild and quirky personalities. All 14 are still growing per my 7 day candling, too!

On an interesting note...I had found my eBay vendor for the Ayam Cemani on Facebook. I sent him the link to my candling video. He offered a FULL replacement of the 6 egg order...plus 2 eggs. For the same cost of shipping. $9.99. I told him it was unnecessary, and if he wanted he could send me 2 eggs just to cover the unfertilized ones...but he was insistent...so I sent him $12 to cover fees as well lol. Anyhow...he asked me if I would take a final egg his hen laid today (to round it out to 9 total). He said this egg was from a new bird and blood line in his Ayam Cemani program, but that it would be dumb for him to tie up his 250 egg incubator for one egg. He said she's a young bird, and it may not even hatch...but if I'd like to give it a try he'd send it over.

Of course, I agreed! So now we have 9 more Ayam Cemani to watch (with a special egg we can all root for lol)...and I'm probably keeping that second (the only NEW) Ver 2 NR360 incubator lol.

Fun stuff!

Here's what a brown egg looked on day 6. Although I couldn't see details, it was enough to tell whether developing or clear

The candler is something I have very little experience with. I actually tend to forget it's even there because I like to use my little high lumen flashlight. Several people have used electrical tape or black duct tape around the light so there isn't any bleed through of light through the white plastic.

I use this model:

NITENUMEN NE01 CREE XM-L2 LED 5modes 1000LM USB LED Flashlight https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GM9QZ4C/ref=cm_sw_r_fm_apa_i_qixREb96K607N

1000 lumen. I put a tape gasket around the rim to conform to the egg. They're better bought from Gearbest.

That's not horrible! I'll try it on my blue eggs on day 14!
