Harris Farms Nurture Right 360 Incubator is AMAZING!

I think it was 50 miles we had to drive for our two (two different trips)... then I was at the local TSC (which is probably 7 or 8 miles away) yesterday and I saw one there.

That's exactly what I had to do. Multiple trips of 50 miles plus one way...to get three separate units in order to find ones that worked right. Two of them were used, and right off the truck from the manufacturer. One of those made HORRIBLE noise (probably the reason for the initial return)...the other (the newest version 1.0 NU) was scratched badly, and had obviously been opened and used, then put back in the box and returned.

All in all I still love the units though. I find them very easy to control and like the overall design. Just need to up my skill and figure out what I'm doing lol.

Oh also! One thing I may do...is leave the turning ring in to hold the eggs with the air sack in the right position. Right now the chicks just bowl them all over...and the pips end up on the wrong side. Those birds never seem to hatch. The last Ayam Cemani hatch had three more fully developed birds, that had already pipped...but died. Those three were knocked upside down by the other birds and never ended up being turned back over. The turning ring may help with that, without disturbing air flow like egg cartons, card stock boxes, or other things people use to keep the eggs from being knocked around.

I know what you mean. Six of the seven Guinea eggs have hatched, and they were knocking the others all over. Waited until they dried off and took them out, and righted the pipped eggs while I was at it.

I'll give the others (one more Guinea and 5 ducks) a day or two, depending on who's making progress or still moving inside, then I'll consider assisting. They all still start rocking if you shine a light on the side the air cell is on.

Is it better (after you remove the turner) to mark the top sides of the eggs and remove chicks once dry to help reduce them playing soccer with the eggs?
Everything says DO NOT Open In Lockdown!!

But if the unhatched eggs are getting killed from live chicks, but opening the top kills unhatched eggs...which one is worse? :idunno

I remove the rowdies, always in at least pairs.
If your humidity recovers quickly it's not usually a problem.

The last Guinea stopped moving, so I took the egg out and candled. No movement, so I opened up the egg (scored a circle around the air cell using a utility knife, and gently kept at it until I could pry it off - I don't know how they crack such thick shells. It had died at some point, and hadn't absorbed the yolk entirely.

Two of the duck eggs hatched on their own, the other 3 were running out of steam and it looked like the membranes were getting discolored so I assisted them. They're all doing well.

Bummer, sorry to hear about the guinea. How many did you end up hatching?

Very helpful, thank you.

I wish I had thought to stick a few extra in to take the place of 2 infertile eggs in mine. Great idea.
Glad you liked the video! :) Yeah, just watch the eggs because they do get a bit jostled around. I would straighten them up a bit, and turn the eggs that were not getting automatically turned.

Six, and all six hatched themselves at least a day ahead of the ducks. Lazy ducks : p

First time hatching anything, so 11/12 isn't bad. It is fun to hatch, too. A couple years ago, I spent $28 for four keets, now we have six more for free : D

My girlfriend ordered some lavender eggs online to go with our pearls, those are still a couple days out. Then hopefully in a few months we'll have a big, obnoxious, annoying, and slightly more colorful flock  Love those tick munchers.
