Harris Farms Nurture Right 360 Incubator is AMAZING!

Well, the other chick still hasnt' made it out of the shell yet. It's almost completely zipped but just hasn't pushed out yet. It's chirping like crazy though. So I'm still patiently waiting until he/she makes his/her grand entry before opening up the incubator to see what's going on with our problem child. Each time I walk by the incubator, the paper towel on the bottom looks dirtier so I feel like it is oozing something. But I don't think it's doing the big bloody splotches like it did right after it was born.

To be honest, I don't think it looks like a yolk sac either... I was trying to look up egg anatomy to see what else it might be but everything that comes up is for undeveloped or embryonic eggs. My DH thinks it looks like a prolapse rectum

The pinkish coloring looks like it could be intestines, which is my concern but since I can't see it in person I didn't want to stress you over it because it's certainly more common to just see unabsorbed yolk sac.

Can you take a picture of the zip? It sounds like it may have gotten stuck.

I cracked the incubator lid with a qtip and rolled him over so you can see... He zipped on the opposite end from the air cell. No idea what absorption looks like.

You should put antiseptic ointment on that bleeding yolk sac and wrap him in a dry paper towel and set him upright in a narrow cup or dish so that he doesn't do any more damage to himself.

If it were me, and had a chick struggling after the zip was completed, I'd just pop the top off for it. It will most likely push out on it's own after that.
