Harvesting my first flock.

He was really bad with the hens and attacked me. I grabbed him, got only his tail and he was still trying to get me. Felt like the Queen in Alice in Wonderland--Off with his Head!

I've worried because I've seen instructions to cut the arteries on both sides but avoid the windpipe, and I can't figure out how they do that.

The windpipe is in front, just like us. The arteries are on each side, again like us. Very simple, really, just don't take the knife all the way across the front of the throat, do each side only.

You don't actually have to cut both sides. I usually just cut one side so I get good blood flow and leave it at that.
