Has anybody ever watched Green Acres?

This is the basic plot of Green Acres as I remember it.

A wealthy man from the city has always wanted a farm. He moves to the country with his wife who is not overjoyed by the move. He is logical but neither his wife nor the locals are.

The one scene that sticks in my head is the fact that his wife could not make coffee. Every morning he had thick, black goop to drink.

I remember the show being cute and funny but some younger people might find it corny. Still, corny can be enjoyable when you are in the mood for it.

I thought Green Acres was a documentary. We took notes on every episode, especially the home improvement ones. You mean not everyone wears a suit to plow the field??? Ruth wears evening gowns to feed the chicks. This really changes things!

Everyone that I knows wears a suit to plow a field! You don't? I have on my evening dress and tiara right now. Of course, some people wonder about my sanity, but that is a subject for another thread.

funny you brought that up because I believe THAT was one of my favorites growing up(I am OLD) . that and mr. ed and I was raised in the burbs and dreamed of such a life. it WAS hysterical but you had to envy oliver and lisa douglas(altho lisa took longer to love it)so the dream came true.

When I was a young college kid, if we didn't have cable, then Green Acres was the only thing on TV at 3am when we got home after bar closing. I couldn't say how many beers I've had while watching Green Acres and cheering for Arnold Ziffle whenever he made an appearance.
