My Family Is Leaving On Vacation In The Morning To Visit The Great Smokey Mountains Area. We Will Be Staying In The Pigeon Forge Area For The Next Week. We Have Visited This Area Many Times But Have Never Went To The Knoxville Zoo. According To Map Quest It Is Only About A 45 Minute Drive Fron Pigeon Forge To The Zoo. Is It Worth It? It Will Be Me,My Husband And Two Daughters Ages 9 And 14 If This Helps.
Please Let Me Know About Your Experience If You Have Visited There.

Thanks
Amy

It's not a grand scale zoo, like Miami's Metrozoo or anything, but it's nice. Alot of uphill/dowhill walking.

OK Thanks We Have Been To Large Zoos But Will Probably Still Give It A Try.

I liked it...I liked the Memphis one better, St. Louis and San Diego my top 2. I live in Maine now...NO ZOOS...

Guess that's a reason to travel more!

I worked there for 5 years they have made alot of improvements over the years but there are still some old zoo exhibits. I think it is worth it just go in the morning so it is cooler and the animals are more active.

San Diego Zoo and the Wild Animal Park....I am too spoiled to even think about any other "zoo".

But enjoy....srry you can't come to the REAL zoos we have here...

The aquarium is nice I have only been there once right after it opened. I just didn't care for the gatlinburg traffic when I lived in knoxville
