About a year ago one of our adult R.I.R.s was attacked by a hawk. The chickens were free-ranging and the hen was running into the run (The run's roof is covered with chicken wire) the hawk flew through the gate and grabbed the hen. I guess he was trying to kill her on the ground cause he didn't fly off after grabbing her.
We ran outside and he got off her and tried to get out of the run. We have a lower run gate and between the top of the gate and chicken wire the hawk was able to squeeze through. Thankfully the hen was OK.
After that we've lost a couple chickens to hawks I assume, although I can't say that I've seen any other attacks.
