Has anyone ever purchased silkies from cackle hatchery? If so, were they good quality, and can you send pictures?... I'm looking to buy some good quality Silkie chicks. Preferably females but unsexed is fine

I won’t have pics until we get home in 2 days sadly, but I’ll update then! We’ve gotten some from Cackle. One did arrive with wry neck that we lost very shortly after. I think it may have been a caused-by-shipping incident. The others however have been thriving and filling out so nicely! I don’t think they will be necessarily show standard, but they are very fluffy! We can tell at a glance easily which are from Cackle and which are from Ideal. (That being said, Ideal’s birds have all been incredibly sweet despite very pet quality. Would not hesitate to order from them again)

The silkies from Cackle too though are very sweet as well! We had one that had a leg injury (we believe possibly a slipped tendon - we improved the brooder situation to avoid future injuries like this) and he healed up super well! I know Silkies can be prone to vitamin deficiencies so I was nervous it would be a tough road, but he’s been doing gloriously. (Well, “he”)

Ours are still quite young, being about a month old, so certainly not a time weathered review, but the fluff is already impressive and the behavior so far has been wonderful. They’re in the brooder with a wide range of other breeds, from Jersey Giants to itty bitty Bantams. (It’s so funny to see the littlest Bantams perching on the big chicks - everyone gets along so well!) We’re moving to only hatching our own eggs, but I’ve only had wonderful experiences with Cackle out of about 8-9? Orders, including hatching eggs, but we would not hesitate to order chicks from them again. I would say go for it. 🥰 Their pics on the site tend to be pretty accurate for other breeds we’ve got that are older, so I think it’s FAIRLY safe to say what you see in their pics is nicely close to what you’ll end up with. I hope this helps some!
