Has anyone bred Pekin and welsh harlequin ducks together??

Erin, I don't know about the massaging but I don't think bending is a good idea because the tendons are in the wrong position, opposite of where they should be and they are getting tighter which probably is causing her pain. If you could only push the tendon around to where they should be but I don't know how you could do that at this point.
Oh ok. Good to know, because here and there I have been bending her knees, Just a little bit, but doesn't seem to bother her. I'll stop tho. I tried to feel for a tendon or something I could little by little move to the other side and there is just nothing movable.

I understand. Thank you so much for getting back to me. So am I understanding correctly that this WAS fixable???? Not how, but WAS?? @CatWhisperer
Might have been. She may have been hatched with abnormally formed joints which caused the problem in the first place. This is only speculation. I just think now that at this point it is uncorrectable.

Also, curious...what causes the bruise/bleeding? And you dont think with massaging or bending them correctly some, will help? (Sorry for the questions...just pulling at every whisp of hope I've got) @CatWhisperer
For such a tiny creature the metacam could be the cause of the bleeding or just the repeated joint trauma. Metacam is a NSAID like aspirin or ibuprofen and can cause digestive upset or increased bleeding tendencies.

Oh ok, so that might make sense about her eating being off yesterday and her stomach running. But the bruise/ bleeding was before we ever gave her the pain meds. We just did that for the 1st time lastnight.
But gosh, which is worse right now? I would really like to give her a little to help ease things. I'm bringing her to our local vet (that was out of town when I brought her to the other one last week). No matter what, I'm not going to let her suffer, but I also need to be 100% sure before-hand, & honestly, not sure that I, myself, could handle doing "anything". So, as long as shes relaxed & resting tonight, we'll be at the office tomorrow.
I do want to Thank You as well.:hugs Definately not what I wanted to hear, but apparently what I needed to hear. Wish I could've found you a week ago:hmm, but still..... pretty hard to tell much thru pics on a screen. I've had alot of amazing help on BYC from day 1, so I'm thankful weve made it this far.
She has always been such a lively little duckling w/ more personality that I've ever seen. And of course with her leg issues, we have rarely been separated since her birth, so I apologize, I get Very, Very attatched.....a flaw of mine, I guess.

Well, the only other local vet has seen my older ducks on occasion but she doesn't have alot of experience with ducks at all. Everything is always worth a shot. Does anyone know....in order to do xrays, they wouldnt need to put her to sleep or anything, right? I'm kind of thinking some xrays might be helpful. Her leg is still pretty bruised this morning. And shes been having diarrhea pretty bad since yesterday. Although, everytime I offer her water cup, which is often, she could drink the whole thing.... sucks it right down.
Should I give her another dose of pain meds?? Only have her a dose yesterday evening.
I love her so much:love:love Thank you everyone for being such an amazing group of shoulders to lean on. I know you have your own lives, so I appreciate yall so much. :hugs
I have been following along here and wishing the best for Joy, you are such an amazing duck mom for all the love and special care you've been giving her.
While I'm not much help with any of her issues I can say we have had 2 of our ducks in for xrays and it did not require any kind of sedation, the images they took were nice and clear.
Wishing you the best :hugs
