Well, not totally sure yet. We are scheduled for an MRI, then we'll go back on Tuesday with that in hand for them to further evaluate. Worst case scenario is surgery which he does Not want. Hoping we can "maintain" & heal it with a fitted custom back brace & several adjustments. We'll see.So sorry about your dh that’s awful. What can they do about this?
I totally missed all your posts yesterday. They weren't in my mailbox like they usually are. I just found them. For sure. Now I just have to hope & pray that the surgery they're thinking they might be able to do....isnt an incredibly out of reach price range.
My husband hurt his back this past saturday. We went to the chiropractor on Tues. They took Xrays and revealed that the bottom between his last vertebrae & spine is fractured...broken straight across, all the way thru. We couldnt beleive it. Really wasnt expecting that at all, my poor guy.
So...... this year will be my year of nursing. @DuckyDonna .....wanna move in?![]()
For sure. She had literally just laid him on the table, Just started to adjust his back and the nurse practitioner ran in screaming "Stoooop"!OMG that poor man! I am so glad he got xrays done!
Thank goodness she got there in time. How scaryFor sure. She had literally just laid him on the table, Just started to adjust his back and the nurse practitioner ran in screaming "Stoooop"!
Exactly. Ya know, she told me the names & labeled everything out for me and as I was trying to remember she'd say more and more and I'm still in shock that it's broken then she'd say this and show me that then...... Bam...I've already forgotten the 1st 5 scientific -specific names that shes given me.I totally missed all your posts yesterday. They weren't in my mailbox like they usually are. I just found them.
That is so cute about Celeste! I wish my ducks loved me like yours love you! I hope the specialist has some non-invasive ideas for Joy and I think that her congestion may go away if she can be more upright. How exactly does she spend her day, what position is she in? Do we know what sex she really is? Not like that matters but just wondering.
That's awful about your husband. Did they tell you the level? Such as L5 S1? I've done a ton of spine surgery cases and I really hope he can avoid surgery. It seems that once you start that ball rolling it never ends. Hopefully, PT and exercise will heal it without any surgery involved.
So can she move around on her own at all? I just can't really picture what she looks like in a regular day. Like what is she doing when you're not holding her I guess is what I'm trying to say.Exactly. Ya know, she told me the names & labeled everything out for me and as I was trying to remember she'd say more and more and I'm still in shock that it's broken then she'd say this and show me that then...... Bam...I've already forgotten the 1st 5 scientific -specific names that shes given me.But, I do know that the bottom vertebrae was pushed forward (towards his belly) not aligned with the rest, there was No cartilage or space below it (the rest had an average amount of space between each on the xray) then right behind that, there was the break. And trust me, they dont all love me like Celeste and Joy. Max wants to eat me, literally, every second I'm near him. And tries it too. He thinks hes a little pitbull, he grabs a chunk of my skin and just shakes his head like hes ripping a leaf off of a plant. Its awful. I will look at the paperwork from the dr.office and see what I can find, I'm sure theyve noted the specific issues.
As far as Joy, my goal everyday, especially here lately, is to try to keep her upright. But, when I absolutely cant or shes sleepy, I lay her on her side. I vary between left and right, never leaving her on 1 side for very long. I have also made a donut pillow so that she can lay on her belly with her legs hanging in the middle ("donut hole"). She seems to like it but only when shes wide awake. She also likes sitting on my lap with her legs hanging between my legs. That's the only way she can sit on her belly like that is if she has a place to dangle her legs. I am almost positive shes a girl, weve been hearing alot of honking from her, I was so excited. But....Max "honked " a few times when he was little so....But Joy is honking often so a Girl is what were sticking with.

Oh ok. I'll take some newer pics. No she cannot move on her own at all. She can wiggle everybit of her body but cannot move from 1 place to the other on her own.So can she move around on her own at all? I just can't really picture what she looks like in a regular day. Like what is she doing when you're not holding her I guess is what I'm trying to say.
