Has anyone crossbred a *Dark Cornish* with a *Rhode Island Red?* If so, was it a DC hen w/a RIR rooster or the other way around? And if you did, was it successful? Did you raise the crossbreed chicks to harvest? How much did they weight? Do you have any pictures?
We're new to the chicken world. I wanted RIR chicks, but I forgot to delete the Cornish Cross chicks in my basket and I got 15 CR and 15 RIR baby chicks. We are at week 5 for the CC chickens and I don't want to do them again. I'd rather cross breed a Dark Cornish with a Rhode Island Red for a meat bird, even if they are a bit smaller and take tad a bit longer to bring to harvest.
