Each and every item is different. Each and every internet seller... Sells differently used things so it makes no difference if I bought a used camera online that worked perfect and you bought a different used camera that doesn't.
You can't really compare products this way.

I have bought a used lens off of Amazon from an individual seller. The transaction went well and the lens was as advertised.

I haven't used Amazon. I did buy a nice used telephoto lens from MPB and would definitely look there for a future camera or lens purchase.
