Has anyone ever used the non-slip matting that goes under a rug on the wire rack of the bator so the the eggs dont roll around? I have read about putting cheese cloth down, but was wondering if the non-slip matting would work.

I just put the rubbery shelving material you put in your cupboards in my bator, so that I can lift my egg carton up and rotate without worrying about slippage. Still wondering if it would be ok to leave in their during lockdown/hatching for any babies that hatch out for footing and mobile chicks vs. being on wire mesh (?). Worrying a bit over little toes and tails snagging or getting caught in the holes. Since I shouldn't count my chicks before they hatch, I will just have to be patient and see what happens. I don't know about you guys, but I think this is going to be the longest three weeks in my history, including every holiday, birthday and anniversary combined!
(Good luck)
