Has anyone here ever had a parasite before?

Eek!

The worms I pooped out were small, like 1/2 inch to 1 inch. I don't know what kind they were. I figured why waste time giving nasty stool samples when I could just take the herbs and get it over with. Wost case scenario is I wouldn't get any better.

Same here Cally. We bought my son a puppy in November from a breeder here in TN. The puppy was itching, we thought fleas. Took the pup to the vet before we brought him to NY and the vet agreed that although he didn't see any fleas it probably was just that.

Fast forward to 2 month later. My son called me to tell me his puppy had sarcoptic mange. My dogs were itching, took them to the vet, they had it, I had a rash all over my body. I went to my doctor. I have a compromised immune system from diabetes and I ended up with scabies from the darn sarcoptic mange.

My entire body is scarred. It took 4 months to get rid of it because of the diabetes. And I'm the only one in my household to get it. It's said that people with healthy immune systems won't get it.

I tried Neem oil, a natural product to get rid of it and it didn't work. I finally had to go with pyrethrin. UGH, I hate drugs!

Of course the breeder has changed his number and moved. Nice.

Laurie...if you happen to have a recurrence of this, I know just about everything there is to know about it. Use Perma-Guard food grade DE powder as it is natural and won't harm you. You will have to use it for up to 6 months as the mites live below the skin and are cyclic, but it WILL WORK as I am living proof. My immune system is always weak due to rounds of chemo I had years ago...my immune system is damaged and does not function like a normal immune system. I studied this after finding an article on it in a medical journal. Doxirubicin (sp?) I think is the drug that causes the damage, but there is another drug I was administered that I can't remember the name of. Anyway...I went through absolute hell for a whole year with it, but I am well now, although a little paranoid about every spot or itch or tickle I feel on my skin. I'm surprised you were diagnosed so easily...over nearly a year's time I went to many doctors (even dermatologists) who thought I was crazy. Believe it or not, a physician's ASSISTANT at an eye clinic finally diagnosed and treated me, as the mites were in my eyelashes and the meibomian of my eyelids. Thank God for Mr. Marsala and DE!!!!!

This thread has me absolutely crawling out of my skin!
I have always kinda feared that I have some critter...I've been volunteering in animal shelters since I was about 10, and I worked as a vet tech for three years during my undergrad. A vet clinic in a low end of town, with lots of very unhealthy animals...
Bleeeh! Needless to say, I'm sure I've been exposed to stuff...

Besides that, I'm starting to get a bellyache. If we think about it too much we'll start to freak out......ugh parasites.

I've been wondering if I have one. Things have not been going right in the abdominal area and I have been feeling bad. Can you worm yourself with horse wormer (ivermectin)? or better yet Quest plus?(Moxidectrin plus praziquantel), anyone know???
