I have no idea about America, but in Australia people pay A LOT to buy silkies. I was able to sell a whole bunch of 6 week old chicks for $15 each.

It realy depends on the marketing, though. I advertised in every forum and paper I got my hands on, so that probably helped. I'm still getting offers, though they're all sold out!

Well I can say I got $2.50 got s.s. hamburg over black cochin hens. That mix makes for the prettiest roos I've ever mixed and very friendly I think because of the cochin.
