Has anyone ordered from Sandhill Preservation?

That's probably my main criticism. They're both getting older and have full-time jobs. They need to charge $10-30 more on the variety packs, and probably increase prices on some of the breeds. Then take that money and pay someone who can come in and do credit card processor stuff, emails/calls, and help in general so they don't find themselves incapacitated by old age. I am worried about their stock-- what will happen to those valuable lines if they get to a point where they can't continue like this.

The wife called me at 830 at night her time. That's a sign they're overworked and don't have enough time or work/life balance. And eventually that will all come to a screeching halt.

They have absorbed some interesting lines from others as well so I’m sure they know how it goes. It would take a very specific kind of person to take over. I really hope they have something in mind.

Yeah, when I e-mailed to let them know the chicks arrived (at about 6) he said his wife uses the "down time" of dinner to track every package.

I think at this point they're desperate to get these lines into the hands of people who might be willing to maintain them, so they keep their prices low for that.

Maybe they should downsize the amount of breeds they offer?
Go down the list, it's a cr@p load of breeds and varieties and I'd say half or more are very common breeds that many hatcheries sell.
If you want to claim you're preserving breeds maybe focus on the ones that really need it and focus on decent representations of them.
Eliminate those easy to find breeds that they're not making a bundle on.

If I was willing to place an order for 25 chicks I could get some of those muffled game I've been wanting. They limit you to 5 of those. My luck I'd get 12 roosters and the muffled game would die enroute

My biggest issue is the number of birds they have on the list that say they were wiped out by one predator or another. Just kinda depressing to go down this list that has birds almost impossible to find anywhere else just to get your heart rising before it crashes when reading that pen is no longer alive
