Has anyone purchased the Amish combination Quaker coops? If so do you like it?

Has anyone purchased just the actual amish style hen houses, and then done their own runs?
I don't know that there is an "actual amish style" chicken coop,
but many folks do buy a coop and make their own runs.

I just ordered a prefab shed for my new coop and noticed that just about all of the places advertise 'Mennonite quality'. Well, I've heard of Amish quality, but not Mennonite so did a double take. Be careful. I looked at one that had an inspection list with everything checked off, great work, and another where pieces of structural 2x4's weren't attached at all. I paid a deposit and won't pay the rest until I see it, look it over real well and say ok. My big thing is that the wood edges on the bottoms are not sealed and can swell. Feel that part. Also, look at the bottom of the door and see if it's discolored or swelled. If the door is warped it won't improve but get worse.

I looked into a lot of Amish coops a couple of years ago.
First off you can forget the Amish part because it doesn't mean anything. They were not Amish made. They were not Amish quality. At least not of the Amish quality as us older folks remember.
The only thing Amish was they were a ripped off design from what was supposed to be an Amish built coop. Fact is if they were ever built to that design it wasn't an Amish original design.
Basically "Amish" is just a sales ploy.

As far as quality they were better then most coops being sold. You know the snap tight China coops.
They were good material but poorly constructed. Like someone said some boards weren't hardly attached and a lot of nails sticking out inside the coop.
I thought they were decent but not near worth what they were asking for them

Even if built by the Amish be careful of what you buy. Being Amish does not guarantee good work. My son-in-law remodels etc. in an area that has a lot of Amish that people hire to do work for them. He is forever called upon to fix what they have done due to sloppy work and lack of attention to details like leveling and parts of projects not fitting together properly.
