Has anyone tried the open-egg hatch method before? (HELP)

@Karilcole do you ever take the plastic off the egg? And how did you seal it to the egg? Thanks!
They are sticky & clear waterproof film dressing for wounds that I cut to size. I know I probably did everything you’re NOT supposed to do, but they all hatched anyway. 🤣 I cut off the clear sticky cover to get photos & video multiple times during the process. DON’T try to peel it off!! It’s so sticky it can crack the egg! I used tiny scissors to cut it then replaced it with a new one. This is what I’ve used.

Ok! That makes a lot more sense than using gift wrap tape and plastic cooking wrap 😆. Thanks!

I’m sure that would probably worked too. I just had this in hand. I think mine are on day 8 today. I will take photos today when I check on them. I can post them if you want to see. What day are yours on?

Please do! Mine are on day 9. There are not really any visible blood vessels though, do you see any on yours? I see some hazy red lines, but I also see a heartbeat. It used to be more clear, but the embryo has drifted to the side so it’s harder to see a heartbeat.

This is tonight in day 8. I’m not happy with any of the yolks but to be honest, I don’t remember what the successful yolks looked like. 😏
In the next day or 2, they will be big enough to start getting pretty good photos. This is what I can see of the vessels.

Oh! The chick in mine is less than an inch across! That seems weird lol. Maybe late development? And in mine there are no veins, just these hazy red lines that are rather large. Thanks for sharing!

This is what mine looks like right now. The chick inside is about 3/4” across, but it’s off to the side where I can’t get a picture of it. There is a visible heartbeat.

Mine are all pretty tiny, maybe 1/4”.
3 of the eggs are bantam eggs & the bigger egg is a Brahma/silkie cross. Mine don’t have the top membrane on so they might look clearer inside if yours has it on. Idk if that made any sense. 😂 I did also cut off the clear cover for photos. I did it last time & they still hatched. I just do it quickly & replace it w a new cover when I’m done.
