I just had a case of IB that went through both of my coops. My hens are now in the recovery stage. I have decided to start over in another part of the farm with 150 new chicks. This is a totally separate area, but what I am concerned with is carrying it on my shoes even though I've disinfected both coops every couple of days. So I'm trying to decide on how best to make sure I don't cross contaminate the coops. I was looking around and found a disinfecting floor mat. I was thinking of getting one at the entrance of each coop. Has anyone used one? Do they work well? Does anyone have any other ideas?
