We are under high heat warnings here in Texas. I have put out frozen ice jugs, ice pools, fans etc. but my chickens are still panting. It is just miserable here. Has anyone used a mister system that hooks to a water hose to provide coolness? Is this a good idea or will the dampness cause more problems than the heat? Please advise.

A cool mister? You mean like Barry White?

When I lived in Austin I used the "cobra" misters from Home Depot or Lowe's, in front of a powerful fan. It worked great, but be careful about bedding and food getting wet. Mold will kill chickens. When it got really humid I turned them off.

Every Sunday when we BBQed we turned them towards the crowd, folks loved them!
