Has anyone used a truck canopy as a duck or chicken coop?

I saw a picture under I think COOPS BUILDING THEM....and I saw a guy used the back end of a truck...it can be done, but I would see about taking out the windows and maybe replacing them with wire fencing for ventilation....or raising it off the ground and putting it on pallets....

ANYTHING CAN BE DONE OR USED, you will find out, good luck!!!!

I did not use it but a friend of my husbands did. He made it taller by using plywood walls on the bottom,two sides and back. then he used wire on the front. He kept chickens and then baby goats in it. It worked for him In fact he still uses it now its a storage box lol

My husband thought I was crazy when I told him I thought I could use a truck canopy! It turned out alright though because he decided that we should get a greenhouse and use part of it for the duck house.

<does a happy dance>

I would think that it would get smoldering hott in there. You would definatley have to find some way to keep it cool in there.

I'm using an old camper for my coop and it's working great. One of these days I'll put some pics up in case anyone might want to copy my idea. Best part was that the camper was free-just took a bit of work to fix a leaky roof and a bit of lumber for roosts. Way cheaper than building a coop from scratch.

I wouldn't use it, I think it will bake them under it.....the reason I say that is my hubby put one of ours up on cinderblocks last summer and it has baked and kllied the grass underneath it!

I have one that I have used for about 2 years. I put in up on post and wire around the post went it is cold I use a tarp around it...
Have a other one that I have not got it put together yet...

I was wondering the same thing when I saw one sitting at the end of someone's driveway with a "FREE" sign for over a week.

Another one not too far from the first one with a $30.00 sign.

Where in Washington are you?
