Has anyone used or heard of this watering system.

Murray Mcmurray Hatchery has this great looking watering cup. a cross between the traditional watering system and the nipple waterers. Is it worth the price though?

I have the cups in one of my runs and like them and plan on expanding the system to my breeding pens. shop around for the best price on the cups. The up front cost will be a little higher but the system should last for years and be a lot easier to keep clean. The cups pop off for cleaning and the water stays clean no dirt or leaves or anybody pooping in the water.
I placed a screen over the opening where I fill it and put a shut off valve at the end of the run so I can empty the system if need or to change the water out.
You don't say how many birds you have but I found that 3 cups worked out fine for 25 birds I had in that pen. The only problem with them is they will freeze up in the winter. I live in w ky so that is only a problem for maybe 8 weeks a year and I use rubber feeder bowls from tsc then so that I can just slam them on the ground to break out the ice and water twice a day.But for the rest of the year the cups work great and save a lot of time changing and cleaning water. Oh I also am going to put a shut off valve before the cups so I can pop the cups off for cleaning without emptying the whole system, If I was a little smarter I would have thought of that earlier but I didn't.

I only have 6 hens and 1 roo. In the future i may have 8 hens. I live in the county but its an organized community with rules similar to keeping city hens. I bought nipple waterering things and plan to use those outside in the run and i was thinking of the cups for inside the coop. I am in the PNW. rarely does it freeze here. Maybe for 3 weeks to we have below 35 weather. I am wanting to encase the plastic tubing with pipe insulation and the bucket is going to be kept inside the roof of the coop.

Here is my setup. I got the cups for 4-5 dollars each. Bucket and top for about 6 dollars and some PVC pipe. I works great.

i brought a couple of those here in UK and i payed £1.50 each thats just a little more than $2
