Has anyone used the green plastic chicken fence?

When my girlfriend moved in with her dog I tried to use it to fence my garden in to keep her from digging in the garden (the dog not the girlfriend). Her dog had that fence tore down and chewed into shreds by the time I got home from work...

I have some around my normal chicken fence( welded wire) to keep chicks in. I am going to replace it soon with hardware cloth.
My roosters actually bit through the green plastic fence, and it isn't even a year old. It's cheap, but offers no protection.

I have heard of gamebirds getting their toenails caught in the netting and breaking legs, or hanging long enough to die. So, yes, that's an issue.

I've had my sussex roo get his toes/spur caught in chickenwire -- twice in fact. It was a divider between indoor pens; both times he was hanging upside down for a while before I found him but when freed was fine. I tend to assume that he collided with the divider when flapping down from the roost but can't rule out that he was doing a feet-first ninja-rooster thing at someone in the adjacent pen.

regular 'chicken wire' isn't going to offer you any protection either. it will keep the chickens in, and that's it. it won't keep any predator out that seriously wants to get in. 2x3 welded wire, with chicken/poultry wire over it is better, but by the time you buy both, you could buy hardware cloth, and only have to deal with one installation.

as for the plastic, why would the guy want to use it if he had to replace it every six months? he must have way more time to re-do things than i do

I made a play area for the chickens and ducks when the weather is nice out with black plastic 3ft chicken fence for temporarily use. I kept my Golden in there for few minutes (because when I'm not there watching them, he is my eyes and protector of my birds ) and next thing you know, he came right next to me within minutes ripping the bottom of the door fence. It is just to keep the chickens in. I wouldn't use that for my primary run at all.
