Hatch-A-Long (May-June)

LOL...I had been asking my husband for chickens for about 3 yrs, and finally one day in March this yr I said lets go get some chickens, and it has been never ending since then. He didn't say "No", but I don't think he thought it would turn into me actually liking chickens. And I was totally shocked to see him out searching the back yard for "one of MY girls" after their coop had gotten opened and the dog got a few of my chickens. I lost Chicken Little and one of my favorite BRs that day, and I have never seen him feel so bad for me other than when I was in labor with our kids and the day I broke my ankle. And I have been very impressed when he has started up conversations about our chickens with other ppl. I think he actually likes them

He does admit to them not being as bad as he thought. Of course I was totally shocked to hear it lol. He is getting a little tired of building coops.....I just hope the 8 in the incubator hatch so he can build another one

I had a few of my own eggs...polish..americauna & barred rock that hatched,,the others were all purchased english lavender orphingtons from a local breeder. I build them a chick pen yesterday and today..it was time for them to be in a larger & taller area. They had a blast playing on their little roost. Pics of chicks & pen tomorrow! Love the fuzzy little critters!

I got 2 pips!!!!!!
