I go in to lockdown tomorrow evening. Hope everything is going well for everyone. I will candle and post my numbers tomorrow after I close the hatch.

My very first lock-down starts tomorrow (3-19). I have 14 mail ordered blue splash marans eggs in the bator. Because the shells are so dark, AND because I've never done this before, it's been very difficult to tell what's going on inside them. I have seen some wiggling which was very exciting, but now I'm not sure what to expect come the 21st, so please wish my newbies luck on their upcoming great escape.

Around midnight I moved 13 out of my 14 silkie and showgirl eggs into another incubator for lockdown. I wasn't due until 9am but knew I had a crazy morning coming so I had to. 1 was a late quitter. No pips of any kind yet but they are still kicking. One more week until lockdown on my shipped silkie eggs. 20 of the 24 still going strong. I had 1 infertile at day 7, 2 blood rings at day 10 and 1 quitter day 14. Great for shipped eggs but it isn't over until it's over...fingers crossed! I also have 6 beautiful CCL eggs that arrived yesterday resting so they can jump on in tomorrow. I'm fast becoming a hatchaholic!

My bantam hen Penny went into mommy mode March 1st lol. She was stealing all the freshly laid hen eggs to go broody on. I gave in and let her have one full size gamebird egg and one tiny bantam egg to placate her

Both eggs are fertile and she is due to go on 'lockdown' soon-she is going to make a cute mama hen!

it will warm up again. This is my first time too but i am told not to worry. it is like momma hen stepping off the nest for a bit.

Today's lockdown has been anything but :-( my heat bulb blew today and I rushed out to get another one. I cant seem to get humidity higher then %50. there is water condensing on the lid so it seems nice and moist in there. there is no more possible room for cups of water and sponges. crossing fingers... My humidity wasn't very high during the rest of the incubation so i am considering this time a "dry incubation"

I run the humidity at 30-35% during incubation and bump up to 50% during lock down. You should be just fine.
