Hatch-Along - Setting eggs week of Feb 4th..anyone else?

Here is the first chick She is a silkie EE of some sort. Both her parents are silkie crosses crossed with I believe Ameraucana, the hen she came from lays green eggs.
She looks like she mabye turn out to be blue

I friend I met on the colorado thread gave me a dozen of his eggs. I put them in last night. They are all leghorn X's. he has a leghorn roo, RIR, Cochin, and BR hens.

So now the countdown begins again...

AWESOME! How sweet is she???

I am so sad I have nothing going on right now, on the bright side, I still have 2 eggs moving. I suppose if I have 2, they can at least have each other! It's Day 21 for crying out loud, c'mon guys!

I have 2 pipped, 1 crack down the length of one with it wobbling, and another one moving! Here's hoping for 4!

My first pip hasn't done anything AT ALL since 5:30am... should I be worried???

Not yet, they can easily take 24 hours to hatch. They usually rest for a while before zipping. If he still hasn't done anything by tomorrow morning, then you may want to assist.

One of my eggs that pipped this morn now has a second pip in a different area of the egg. Has anyone had a chick pip 2 different spots?

I had that my first hatch. They turned out fine, I think a couple got rolled by other chicks, so they had to turn around. One did it just randomly though, must have needed a better spot

Its day 20, and I set the eggs at noon, so I'm not getting too terribly concerned yet.

There are reports of massive snow coming here though, and school may be cancelled tomorrow...7 minute car ride from my school to my home... take em home, or leave em at school?

I am in Wichita KS and we are getting pounded by this snow storm. I had my eggs in batons in my class and elected to bring them home yesterday. Glad I did. They are popping out like popcorn. And school was closed today for the third day. May be closed tomorrow also... Go getem
