Hatch Complete/Penedesenca Eggs

Heidi,

I am no expert so just let me say this first. When I hatched my Marans and Americanas they were sooo large chicks that if I had not helped I would have lost them. But I'm not saying to do anything. I think Cyn or Silkie need to help you here.

Now if your temps were low during the first 18 days it could be later to hatch.

Please keep us updated.

Heidi, if you've not seen anything by the middle of Day 22, you could do this, just to see what you're dealing with-warm a slightly damp towel and cradle an egg in the gathered towel then pip the tip of the aircell end with a tiny screwdriver carefully and chip a small hole. Shine a flashlight in there and you should be able to see movement, especially if you cheep at it or tap it. If you see life, just put it back in the bator. If there's no life signs, then the peep may have expired. I'm a bit more proactive with mine now than I used to be, if I know my values of temp and humidity have been correct all along and they should not be hatching late.
Did you get my email today? I was wondering if it was working since three people haven't answered theirs I sent today. Any signs of the eggs in the mail?

Come On Chickies, You Can Do It!!!
Heidi, My thought are with you. Any way you miscounted the days?
I am about an hour from day 21 and nothing is happening here so I know how you feel.
Good luck, I will follow your progress,I am certain they are on their way!

There's no way she miscounted...she's been counting the HOURS, not just the day!
Come on, little chickies!!! YOU can do it!!!

Well? Anything yet???
When one of mine peeped, then nothing, I held it next to my ear and heard the heartbeat, when I lightly tapped on the egg, she peeped. So I put her back. In the end, she did need help, or wasn't ready. But she's two weeks old today.

Finally I had a pip at 3 p.m. and she was diligent and kept breaking out.

She kept a picking and a pecking...

So far she's the only one who's done anything. I have 3 other eggs rocking so hopefully by morning there will be some more. Thanks for the encouragment everyone.

AWE! Bless her little heart! So she's the cheerleader, now! Can't wait to see her all fluffy...CONGRATS on your very first hatchling, Heidi!

YeY!!
Way to Go Heidi!
I am so happy for you, I have checking the post throughout the day to see what would happen. I can not wait to see her all fluffy! See, they must have been keeping time in a diffrent time zone, LOL!

That happen to me I had 2 hatch 24 hours before the other ones pipped. I thought they were dead for sure , but out they came.
