Hatch Complete/Penedesenca Eggs

YEAH! AWESOME! I also can't wait to see your baby all dry and fluffy!

SpeckledHen: Someone shipped eggs to me on the 3rd also, and they didn't arrive today, either... hoping the PO isn't TOO far behind. I'm getting nervous.. hopefully your eggs (and mine) will arrive safe and sound tomorrow after being kept in a nice warm place.

I have one more week of shipping eggs then no more till after the holidays! And besides my super-duper double layer of heavy duty bubblewrap around each egg and the box, I'm also putting a layer of quilt batting lining the box as well. Not much more to do except PRAY, LOL! Hope yours get to you in one UNFROZEN piece.

Heidi,

Are those pipe cleaners (chenille wire) in the photos to keep the eggs from rolling around so much during the hatching gymnastics by the chicks?

Yes, the pipe cleaners are to keep them from rolling into each other. I got the idea from Wynette(byc member & good friend) who read about it on byc - I think. The babe is still fluffing. My humidity is high because the other 5 eggs in the bator are still moving, but not hatching. I removed part of the shell by the air cell thus the high humidity. One had punctured its membrane and is chirping and the others are just breathing. I hope a few more make it. Any ideas?

We now have a new baby - that's two. The other 4 eggs are still moving, chirping, and I can see them breath thru the small hole on the air cell end that I made.

See bigger sibling that hatched yesterday.

How cute! I don't know why, but I never expected yellow chicks to pop out of those dark eggs! How did the rest of the hatch go?
