I sure hope so at this point I dont have any nails left and just keep going over and staring at the eggs thinking surely something has changed in two hours, nope nothings changed.
I'm so jealous!! At least you guys get to look in...I get to see a flat as a pancake mama hen staring back at me like "what are you looking at?" And a "Don't even think about touching me" look...
So here's my evening played out. We had put our neighbors eggs in (like 24 eggs) in our bator like the Sunday after the Friday we laid some of ours. So 21 days would be Saturday for them, ours was yesterday...so why is it we got a call from them saying they had a chick out and another coming out.
so at 3:15 this morning I got woke up because my boyfriend heard chirpping. So we managed to have 1 chick ...waiting for the rest. I hope you get 100% hatch though when I first hatched last year when we had one I was so very happy and then more came. I have no nails either, they are gone. Hoping for more though out the day (won't know till I get home either)
Well today is my day 21 and there is no signs of hatching, no rocking, or chirping. I have checked about every hour for any change and well as stated have not seen anything. So I am gonna leave for the day and hopefully come home to a pip at least. If I stay here I am gonna go crazy I think.
I just went out and checked my broody since I saw her up and off of her nest.
There's nothing.....and now there's only 8 eggs
I don't see shells anywhere. And there's absolutely no way anything is getting in and taking them. I'm getting disappointed in this now....Today is day 23 on the brown and white eggs and day 21 on the green ones....and only 3 out of the eight are green.....
Still sending good hatching vibes to you guys!! Good luck!
Well they are moving some, but no pips yet guess I feel a little better since they are moving a little.. BUT would feel ALOT better if they would get in gear and start hatching already! Good hatching vibes to you both. Chicks for kids if they havent hatched by tomarrow I would candle them when she is off the nest.
So we moved our first one out and had to help the second one. I know we shouldn't until the last moment but it was stuck and I don't think it would have made it, and even now it's touch and go. It's developed and absorbed all the yoke but it's not as "lively" as the first chick.
Good luck you too. Let us know how the candling goes if you candle.
Oh yeah we have an egg rocking too so hopefully soon?
Congratulations you two!! Wow, how exciting!! Eggs moving, and babies hatching........ I can't wait to see some pics of babies!
Rachelj07-can't you put some sugar in the water to help give the little guy a nudge in the right direction?? I think I've read that in several threads. I know that when we get our meaties, I always do a few days with vitamins in their water just to give them a little extra umph. BTW, Good job on helping him out!
I will candle tomorrow night if there's nothing throughout the day. I traded 20 egg cartons for those 5 green eggs........from what I understand, if I see a large air cell then it's alive and if it's a small air sac or one on each end, it's a dead egg?? Sound right?? This is my first broody and my first hatch all in one.....hubby is really trying to convince me to get an incubator
