Day 21, 2 out early a.m., 3rd out of 10 has about a 1/4 zip going, and 2 others popping. Checked on how first two were doing and found them cannibalizing the zipping one. Pulling on toes, and pecking at it's unabsorbed yolk sac. I had another Baylor standing by, so quickly moved the two dry ones, but when I did that I saw what I thought through the window was shell, was the membrain dried, those two others pecked off the shell. So it's in there now alone and I'm worried it might not make it since he didn't get to complete the much needed zipping, absorbing process.

I'm not familiar with incubators but what I would do until someone who is familiar with incubators comes I would take anyone out who is done zipping and place them under the heat lamp and just watch the little guy.

Best of luck with your flock!

Thank you. I did just that, they're now our of the standby brooder/Baylor, and in my regular brooder with heat lamp. I pray this little guy makes it, just broke my heart to see . Plus, this batch of silver polish are precious to me because my last 3 polish babies I hatched were crowded when we had a power outage overnight and my marans chicks and ducklings piled on top and so my only 3 of that breed were squished to death. I do have 1 juvenile silver polish cockeral out with my main flock.

It's doing better, thank you. It kept sticking to the mat and wings were stuck to the body, so took a chance and gave it a very warm bath under a heat lamp. Rubbing it down good after, so now back in with another that hatched half an hour ago and can move around now. (I made sure no others had pipped before pulling her out). Hoping for the best.

:celebrateUPDATE
the little chick did GREAT after her (Hoping her) down all clean after the bath she got strong so put her and the 4th into the brooder, this morning, the only way I can tell her apart from the other 3 is she's tiniest!! So happy
