Hatch day is almost here!

Today is day 21. Nothing happening this morning.
But yesterday I found a cracked open egg laying off to the side with a dead bay chick inside.
I'm guessing either she stepped on it and cracked it....OR she knew it was dead and was getting rid of it.
4 eggs left. It would be nice to come home from work to find a few little fluff balls. *fingers crossed*

i have 3 blue andelusians (pure) due to hatch today but maybe they will tomorrow. broody on them

We have two so far. The other one was last to hatch and hasn't quite made an appearance for the camera yet.

Rooster was a Salmon Faverolle.

I think he/she has her poppas toes!!!

I am on day 23 with my blue andelusian eggs- I brought them in the house, they look like they are on day 20 so I am going to put them in an incubator to finish- I had hens arguing over the nest.

Out of the 4 eggs we had left, we ended up with 3 baby chicks. Everyone is healthy and happy. They had their first outing on Saturday.

the mom hen was not able to hatch those blue andelusians out. when she took them in she had too many eggs so they were too slow growth wise. I got plenty enough chicks over the spring and a girlfriend just gave me this Isbar rooster to be top roo.


he has alot of pretty hens to breed with.

mom hen gave up so I popped in home made incubator. due tomorrow. looks green in pic but it is blue- EE/blue frizzle
