hatch day is tomorrow!

So my button quail eggs are on day 15 of incubation. That means if all goes well I should be getting some babies tomorrow. I am curious to see if my own eggs hatch in less time than the shipped eggs do. When I shipped button quail eggs they only hatched on day 17 and 18.

does anybody else have quail eggs hatching this week?

I just hatched 14, yesterday and today. A few more eggs in the incubator but not hopeful for the rest.

Well, hatch day came and went. I am about 9 hours into day 16 and I have 3 pips out of 10 eggs. I will hopefully wakeup in the morning to baby quail. I will keep my fingers crossed! I can't wait to see what colours I get.

My humidity is at 73 percent, is that too high?

I woke up this morning to 4 chicks! Well, see what happens with the other ones!

Lol, 9 out of the 10 eggs have hatched. A few of the chicks are solid black with yellow winged tips, I guess they will be some mutation of a blue faced. The funny thing I discovered from these eggs is that from a silver hen being breed to a blue faced male, I got blue faced chicks, Darth vendors, and cinnamon. Not a single silver baby. I guess silver is a recessive gene?

I don't know much about quail genetics but it makes sense. If you breed this hatch together you should get 50% silver. If the Offspring is BbxBb.

Good point! I can clearly see that blue faced is a dominant gene.
