DevilThis is my first hatch. Thought all died in eggs. Today decided to crack open and see. Cracked one and it hadn't developed past day two. Cracked another and out came a chick but not fully developed, maybe 15 days, heart beating and everything.Decided to leave other 4 alone.Feel VERY bad. Need advice.

I know somebody who had a similar problem, but in her case it looked about a week younger than it actually was. She left it alone and it eventually hatched. I suggest leaving them in the incubator and candle regularly. If they don't develope anymore they won't hatch. It could be a problem with the tempurature. 100 degrees Fahrenheit is what I use for all eggs and it has always been pretty succesful. Good luck!

OMG Alwayswantchicks, I am so sorry about your experience. I had the same thing happen to me about 2 weeks ago. It was so devastating to me to have ended that chicks life. But the eggs were cool because my hen was getting sick and she left the nest unattended. I know exactly how you felt.

How did the rest of the eggs do? I have 4 that are due next Wednesday and after I candled them today I think 1 may hatch that day but not sure about the other 3. They seem less mature so they may end of being 24 dayer's. I will candle on a daily basis until they hatch just to keep a close eye on them and keep record of there continued growth. This is my first hatch too.

Have you had any hatch since then or did you put in another batch?

Lisa
