Hatch due this Sunday ""Update"" with pics :-)

#10 is out

I have 2 eggs left but dont have high hopes for them. No pips and with the 10 hatching they have been beat around quite a bit.

Over all not to bad for my 1st hatch

Well when I got home this evening and was taking out # 9 and #10 I took a quick look at the last 2 eggs and noticed one looked like it pipped??

So I took the 2 chicks out to the brooder then went back and took a closer look at the last 2 eggs well the one that hasn't pipped I candled it quick, dud clear?? I guess I missed it on day 18 and will blame it on being a newbe lol, lol

but when I picked up the other egg, it cherped!!

I thought O-Crap !!!I added some water real quick and got the hatcher shut back up.

I just took a look all is well so far and eggie is rocking a bit

Fingers are crossed for the little fella

Heres for thinking I was done lol, lol Man only if it hatches I will be 11 for 12

And Thurday evening is day 18 for my next Dozen so it looks like I only will get a couple days off from the madness

Hey! congrats on the chicks! I'm hopefully getting some fuzzy butts tomorrow because when I candled there was a dark mass with some veins so I think I'll be a father soon.

P.S. doesn't that chick in the first pic your last post look like it has a really big head. I mean when I saw it I was like "nice helmet" no jk but it does have a big head

yep in that pic she sure does look like she is 70% head

I think it was she was crouched down.






PS: the last egg?? Eggie still hasn't hatched, late bloomer I guess, sure hope it hatches today

congrats everyone!

We are on day 16(for the older eggs...some are younger) with our broody hen and eggs! Reall eggcited!

When I got up this morning I checked the last one at 1st I didn't hear anything and it still just had the same pip so I picked it up and herd cherp, cherp so there was some hope

Well when I got home and found #11 running around in the hatcher!!!!!!!!

Took 2 extra days but

the little thing made it, sure went threw heck with all of the others hatching and me opening and closing the hatcher.

I had some duds but out of the 12 that went into the hatcher, 11 hatched and 7 of them is the Delaware x Marans I bred so now I can't wait to see how they feather out

Should make good layers

Friday is day 18 for the 9 I have in the incubator to go into the hatcher. I haven't candled them so can't wait to see how many are good to go
